Mooi museum in de O2(megadome) in London. Compleet interactief, met een slim systeem waarbij je een soort favorites kan onthouden door je kaartje te scannen, en dat vervolgens op het web na te kijken. Zeker de moeite waard als je in London bent. Uitstappen bij metrostation North Greenwich op de Jubilee line.

HUMAN NATURE - Ars Electronica Festival 2009 September 3-8, 2009
At the very outset of the 21st century, it’s becoming increasingly clear that we have entered a new age here on Earth: the Anthropocene. An age definitively characterized by humankind’s massive impact on our physical surroundings. An age whose most emblematic manifestations have been population explosion, climate change, the poisoning of the environment and our venturing into outer space. Heretofore. But now, it’s not only the environment that we’re changing. It’s the fundamentals of life itself—the fundamentals of our own life—that are being subjected to humankind’s will to custom-design our world.
This HUMAN NATURE will occupy the focal point at the next Ars Electronica Festival September 3-8, 2009 amidst a mix of speculative futuristic designs and provocative actionism, philosophical debate and analytical scrutiny.

Concept is simpel: hoe subjectief kun je de natuur portretteren met behulp van kunstlicht. Met een paar heftige halogeenlampen zijn ze de ongerepte natuur ingetrokken en maakten deze surreele plaatjes.

Het is al van twee jaar geleden, maar hier moeten we toch wel iets mee kunnen dacht ik zo.
The most serious problem is the fact that many people often search on their own name, or those of their friends and family, to see what information is available about them on the net. Combine these ego searches with porn queries and you have a serious embarrassment. Combine them with “buy ecstasy” and you have evidence of a crime. Combine it with an address, social security number, etc., and you have an identity theft waiting to happen. The possibilities are endless.
